The Psychiatrist: God Bless the Children was the pilot film for the brief TV series The Psychiatrist.

Roy Thinnes played the lead role as James Whitman whose speciality was the then-new group therapy method. Pete Duel played Casey Poe, a recovering drug addict fighting addiction in a small town.
